Marquees
Marquees can be put up for wedding receptions that exceed 110 guests, subject to availability of dates. The Dairy facility fees, shown above, will be payable for the wedding day as well as marquee set-up and take-down days. A marquee to seat 120/200 people for a wedding breakfast can be positioned in the central courtyard of The Dairy. It would usually take two days to construct and one day to take-down.

The Dairy is licensed for a maximum of 140 guests for a civil ceremony taking place in The West Hall. Marquees are ideal for couples wanting a wedding ceremony and reception for between 110 and 140 guests.

Larger marquees suitable for up to 200 guests dining can be built at The Dairy. These are ideal for couples who may be intending to get married in a church and want to hire The Dairy for around 200 guests for a wedding breakfast and evening reception.

We require that clients use our approved marquee company who will provide a full quotation on request, but as a guide please estimate approximately £8,500 to £10,500 for the hire and construction of a marquee.

Charges are payable as follows: A deposit of 50% of the Facility Fee is due upon receipt of this signed contract. The balance of the Facility Fee is payable no later than six months before the first Date of Hire or, if a booking is made within six months before the first Date of Hire, then 100% of the Facility Fee is due upon receipt of this signed contract. The projected Catering Charge and Drinks Deposit must be paid no later than one month before the first Date of Hire. All Catering and Drinks balances must be paid prior to the first Date of Hire. If equipment is to be hired, or additional services are to be provided, the cost must be paid prior to the first Date of Hire. Payments are due by the dates shown above. Failure to make payment of all or part of the Fees by the due date will entitle RWL to treat the booking as cancelled by the Hirer. When a final invoice is issued payment is due within 20 days of the date of the invoice. All payments must be made in sterling by cheque, debit or credit card. Cheques should be made payable to Rothschild Waddesdon Limited as set out above. VAT is payable on all payments due under this agreement as shown.

Cancellation: In the unfortunate event that you have to cancel your booking you must let RWL know in writing as soon as possible. Please note that in the event that you cancel your booking up to 6 months before the first Date of Hire you shall forfeit 50% of the Facility Fee. If you canel at any time between 6 months and 30 days before the first Date of Hire then you will forfeit 100% of the Facility Fee. If you cancel at any time after 31 days before the first Date of Hire then you will forfeit the Facility Fee and 100% of the Projected Catering Charges and Drinks Deposit and any other deposits and charges payable for the hire. In the event that, following cancellation, we are able to obtain another booking for the proposed Date(s) of Hire, we will waive some or all of the Charges to reflect this, subject to any costs that we incurred in obtaining another booking.

RWL will not be responsible for any disruption to the function due to the closure of the Property or Venue or any restrictions of access that were unforeseen at the time of the booking. RWL may need to cancel or alter the booking (a) in circumstances beyond the reasonable control of RWL or (b) where, in the reasonable opinion of RWL, it is necessary to perform or complete emergency works. If a booking has to be cancelled by RWL, it will take reasonable steps to offer an alternative booking. If the Hirer does not accept the alternative offered, RWL will return the Charges paid up to that date but not be otherwise liable for any loss caused by such cancellation or alteration. Whilst RWL will make every effort to ensure this does not happen, you may wish to take out insurance cover against this occurrence. RWL may cancel this Agreement by notice of the Hirer is in material breach of any term of this Agreement, has entered into receivership or liquidation or has become bankrupt or insolvent or if RWL reasonably believes that the booking prejudices the reputation of the Dairy, Waddesdon Manor, The Rothschild Foundation, The National Trust or RWL.
